Natural .V. Man made disasters

Hurricane Katrina was first formed over the Bahamas on August 23.It started as category one hurricane, then, after passing over Florida, it gained strength in the gulf of Mexico before moving on to Louisiana as a category three hurricane. Katrina killed 1,836 people and 705 were reported missing.
On April 19, of 1995 devastating news broke out. The Federal building (gov. office) was burnt to the ground. 168 lives were taken that day due to a violent act of terrorism leaving over 800 citizens injured.
As hurricane Katrina progressed Police, Firemen, and Hospitals could do nothing but watch as they had no chance against the massive storm. All they could do was supervise people and wait until the storm passed 3-6 days later. Help then came as soon as possible but they could not prevent anything as the damage had already been done.
When the bombing went on Police and Ambulance rushed to the scene as they tried to control the raging fire. Police knew what to expect after that so they had the chance to plan ahead and try to evacuate as many people as they could without killing themselves. After all that is what they were trained to do.
In comparison to hurricane Katrina and the Oklahoma bombing with Katrina police had no idea what to expect to happen next as no one can control nature. In that aspect of it anything could happen as far as hurricanes go. There for, police just had wait until things died down.When the horrible bombing took place police and fireman were trained for that so they were able to get help started a lot sooner. With nature its a lot different you have no idea what to expect with natural disasters but with man made disasters other people are trained for that so its expected that help will be quickly provided. That is how they are so different.
